In October and November, Gov. Cooper visited four different child care programs in Carrboro, Charlotte, Walkertown and Asheville to encourage child care programs to apply for the North Carolina Child Care Stabilization Grants.
“WAGE$ helps me hire qualified staff because it does put them on par with other educators. Public schools don’t want to lose teachers every four months, so why should child care?” said child care director Catherine Lieberman.
CCSA will begin to plan and develop the registry, which will provide data for policymakers, advocacy groups and state agencies on North Carolina’s early childhood and school-age workforce.
