Roll Up & Enroll – Durham PreK Application Event

Looking for pre-K for the fall? Come out to 1201 S. Briggs Ave. in Durham on July 24th for the Durham PreK Application Event!
Families and Communities Rising and Durham’s Partnership for Children are hosting the second Roll Up and Enroll event from 3-7 pm in the parking lot. Bilingual application specialists will be available to help you start or complete an application and submit any missing documents.
There will be food trucks and music for all to enjoy.
Documents needed* to complete an application:
- Applying child’s birth certificate
- Proof of Address
- Proof of Income
*Additional documentation may be required. Please review your application portal to confirm all documents needed to complete your application.

What is Durham PreK?
Durham PreK is Durham County’s local investment in high quality early childhood experiences for all 4-year-olds in Durham.
Who is eligible for Durham PreK?
Durham PreK is open to all families living in Durham County with a child turning 4 years old by August 31 of the applying school year. Many families will attend at not monthly cost, and some families may qualify for a sliding-scale monthly fee.
Where are Durham PreK classrooms?
Durham PreK includes seats in Durham Public Schools, Head Start, and NC Pre-K classrooms. The online application allows families to complete to be considered for all public pre-K seats in Durham PreK.
Why should I enroll my child in pre-K?
Pre-K is important for school readiness and healthy social-emotional development. Children that attend pre-K learn through play and curiosity, prepare for traditional K-12 schooling, and are more likely to lead successful adult lives. Read more about the importance of pre-K on the Why Pre-K page.
