NC ECE Data Repository

Early Years, with funding from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, has created an early childhood data repository that will provide early childhood providers, community agencies, state agencies and public policy makers with lots of data on the early care and education system.

Data Factsheets

With the North Carolina Early Care and Education Data Repository, users can find ECE data gathered from multiple sources, all in one place. Data is divided into five topic areas, described below. Each topic includes both county and statewide factsheets and spreadsheets.

Fact Sheets on this website are published quarterly. For example data from March are published in April, under the Q1 Factsheet. In addition, for data about the early care and education workforce, users can see our Workforce Studies.

**Due to the current restructuring of the CCR&R system, the publication of new factsheets has been paused until early 2027. The factsheets were last updated at the end of Q1 of 2026

**Prior to 2026, Fact Sheets were published monthly. Search for a quarter prior to 2026 will include all three monthly factsheets that were published in that quarter.

**Due to COVID-19, the data repository was not updated from April 2020 to November 2020.

Developed in partnership with the North Carolina Think Babies Alliance. The information reported on Infant and Toddler Care factsheets is updated quarterly (approximately every three months), depending on data availability.
