Scaffolding School Readiness

Scaffolding School Readiness (SSR) provides coaching for teachers working in classrooms serving children age 3 years old focused on teacher interactions and methods for improving the social and emotional climate of the classroom.

This project will offer the following:

  • Free coaching with a highly skilled and knowledgeable Technical Assistance Specialist. This service will be available for 1 lead teachers working in classrooms serving 3 year olds.
  • A monthly Director’s Leadership Academy designed for directors or assistant directors with topics relevant to program leadership, as well as overall administration.
  • Teachers will participate in a free in-depth training series with certified and experienced CLASS® instructors called “Making the Most of Classroom Interactions” or “MMCI”. This is a 12 session professional development series designed to deepen teacher understanding and engage in reflective practices using the Pre-K CLASS® framework. Teachers will learn more effective teaching practices in areas of emotional support, classroom organization, and guided instruction.  Teachers will attend one or two training sessions each month that will last two hours each. In between training sessions, participating teachers will receive on-site coaching/technical assistance from certified TA Specialists.
