On Saturday, May 18, 2024, Child Care Services Association (CCSA) will be hosting our 50th anniversary gala at Cloth Mill at Eno River in Hillsborough, NC. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate all that CCSA has accomplished in partnership with employees, families, child care educators, community partners, and friends. CCSA started as two independent organizations in 1974, to meet community child care needs. Today, we’re a leader and advocate in child care services on the local, state and national level.
The celebration will include a silent auction featuring artwork donated by child care centers CCSA serves. Thank you to Method Child Development Center in Raleigh, NC; The Goddard School in Durham, NC; Kiddie Academy in Morrisville, NC; and Seeds of Wonder in Chapel Hill, NC, for their generous donations.
Colorful pieces of artwork by these talented, young artists will be displayed and sold through the silent auction at the event. The children’s artwork provided is inspiring and reminds us all of the importance of art in the lives of young children and families.
With your generous support, we can continue to support our youngest community members, their families and the early learning educators who equip them with the necessary skills to become future leaders.
Jaki Shelton Green is the event’s featured guest speaker. Jaki is the ninth Poet Laureate of North Carolina. Appointed in 2018, she was the first African American and third woman to be appointed as the North Carolina Poet Laureate. She was reappointed in 2021 for a second term by Governor Roy Cooper. Green also serves as the poetry editor for WALTER Magazine and is the Poet Laureate in Residence at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Liz Bell, early childhood reporter for EducationNC, will serve as master of ceremonies.
The evening promises to be more than just an event — it’s a tribute to 50 years of transformative work and impact.
