We Stand Together: A Statement on Behalf of CCSA and CCSA’s Board

Our hearts are heavy as we all share in the grief and pain from the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and many more. We mourn with our country. We pray that together we will work to build just communities where all people demand inclusive systems with regard to all human life.

We condemn the generations of injustice for African-Americans and the systemic inequalities in our society based solely on skin color. We must join together to recognize personal implicit and explicit biases and talk about, confront and respond to racism in our homes, neighborhoods, communities and schools. We each have a role to play, as early childhood educators, administrators, faculty, students, advocates and parents. Not only are we obligated to reflect and act in the roles we have, but we believe there is a formal professional duty for early childhood educators to take action to speak up for the safety of all our children and their parents.

Child Care Services Association stands with our community and with NAEYC’s We Stand Together.
