FY2021 Consolidated Appropriations and COVID Relief Act provides many different types of support for working parents who depend on child care and also for child care programs who serve these families.
When 2020 began, none of us anticipated what a challenging year it would be. The events of 2020 have shaken the world and changed our lives. COVID-19 has affected us all, directly or indirectly, and its impact will be felt for years to come. But with challenges come opportunities for reflection over what we learned—and what was made clear once again—this year.

In this report, you will see the remarkable work that child care providers have done to give children the stability and certainty they need during a time when instability controlled every aspect of our lives. You will also see the efforts of our great CCSA staff to continue their work with children, families and child care programs through this unprecedented time.

CCSA worked with Yale University Child Study Center to reach child care providers in N.C. The study found no differences in COVID-19 outcomes were observed between workers who continued to provide in-person care for young children and those who did not. Learn more here.
