Tomorrow is Worthy Wages Day, but it’s long past time for early educators to earn the professional compensation and benefits they deserve.
There is a direct relationship between the education of the early childhood workforce and the ability to support and promote healthy child development, which includes all of the building blocks for later learning-to-read readiness. Under the American Rescue Plan passed by Congress and enacted into law on March 11, a number of important changes were made to help make health insurance more affordable for individuals and families purchasing health care coverage through the federal marketplace, HealthCare.Gov.
Congress has spoken – with rules and funding. Now it’s up to each state to figure out the next steps as to how the new funding will be used best.
