There is a direct relationship between the education of the early childhood workforce and the ability to support and promote healthy child development, which includes all of the building blocks for later learning-to-read readiness. “WAGE$ helps me hire qualified staff because it does put them on par with other educators. Public schools don’t want to lose teachers every four months, so why should child care?” said child care director Catherine Lieberman.
Under the American Rescue Plan passed by Congress and enacted into law on March 11, a number of important changes were made to help make health insurance more affordable for individuals and families purchasing health care coverage through the federal marketplace, HealthCare.Gov.
Congress has spoken – with rules and funding. Now it’s up to each state to figure out the next steps as to how the new funding will be used best.
